Church Planting Part 1
Erik has been working in church ministry since January 2001. While at North Central University (Minneapolis, MN), Erik helped plant High Point Church in Rogers, MN as the Worship Pastor for 3 years. As a part of the pastoral team, the church grew from a handful of people meeting on the very first Sunday morning to a body of 150 people.
Student Ministry
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies in May of 2003, Erik went to work at Eagle Brook Church in White Bear Lake, MN. What a change to go from a church of 150 people to a church of 5,000 people! Erik served for two years on the Student Ministries and Worship teams.
After a great season of ministry, Erik married his best friend and ministry partner Kristin Lindeen on June 4th, 2005. The day after their honeymoon, they packed up their lives and moved a thousand miles away to Colorado where Erik started working at Northern Hills Church. Erik enjoyed leading his own student ministry as the Middle School Pastor and occasionally helping lead worship on Sunday mornings.
In 2007, Erik took the position of Pastor of Worship Arts and Student Ministries at Discovery Christian Church– a church that was only a couple years old but was in the process of relaunching with a new senior pastor. As both youth pastor and worship pastor, Erik helped Discovery go through the process of launching a second Sunday morning worship service and while there saw God grow the church from an average attendance of 150 people to an average attendance of over 300 people. Today, Discovery Church is thriving in their own building and averaging over a 1,000 people each Sunday.
Church Planting Part 2
While serving at Discovery, Erik reconnected someone he had done ministry with at Eagle Brook Church. After much wrestling and praying, Erik and Kristin felt called to help plant a new church in Madison, WI. And so, Erik and Kristin packed up their lives again and moved a thousand miles back to the Midwest to help launch a brand new church. For two years, Erik served as associate pastor/teaching pastor. While there, Erik helped that church plant launch a second service and then merge with another church plant to become multi-site.
While in Madison, Erik finished his Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Church Planting Part 3
After many years of wrestling with God’s call to plant a church as the lead pastor, Erik and Kristin decided to face their fears and trust God and take the scary step to move from Wisconsin to Minnesota to plant Mosaic Church.
On December 20, 2014 the Lindeens moved to Maple Grove, MN. Two months later they held their first informational meeting for people interested in knowing more about this new church they were starting. Only a handful of people showed up. But Erik kept believing in God’s call, kept working hard to get the word out, and after dozens and dozens of one-on-one coffee meetings, Mosaic Church had its first Launch Team Meeting on May 17, 2015. Erik rejoiced as 64 adults and kids came together to worship God and to dream about what God could do through Mosaic Church! It was the beginning of God doing something really special in Maple Grove through Mosaic Church.
After lots of summer BBQs and worship nights and a few preview services, Mosaic Church had its Grand Opening on October 4, 2015. Erik and the Launch Team were blown away to see so many people come out for our Grand Opening!
In the past 7 years, MOSAIC has baptized 61 people and dedicated over 50 children to the Lord and helped plant Mosaic International Fellowship in Munich, Germany, Thrive Church in Pelican Rapids, MN, and Freedom Culture Church in Rogers, MN.
