Losing weight is tough. I mean- its really tough. You have to drastically change the way you are living in order to accomplish your goals. On June 1, 2013, I decided to get serious about getting back in shape and getting healthy. In those 7 weeks, I have lost 17 pounds with a total loss of 25 pounds since January 1, 2013.
My goal is to get back to the weight I was at when I graduated college (185 pounds), which would mean losing another 50 pounds. Its a pretty huge goal but I think it is doable.
Here are a few of the “get healthy” benchmarks I have hit in the last 7 weeks:
- On June 1, I couldn’t even run half a mile without stopping to walk. Now I can run 2 miles without stopping (10 min mile pace)
- I went from benching 90 lbs (3 sets of 10) to being able to bench 130 lbs (3 sets of 10)
- I went from squatting 90 lbs (3 sets of 12) to squatting 180 lbs (3 sets of 12)
- I went from wearing a 40 inch waist to wearing a 36 inch waist
As I walk this journey of weight loss, I thought I would journal some of my experiences here. I’m one third of the way to my goal- here’s to completing the other two thirds by the end of 2012!
Truly inspiring Erik! Keep up the great work!
